SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (November 25, 2013) - The Saratoga Casino and Raceway Foundation awarded 23 grants to local not-for-profit organizations at the November 19 meeting of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors. Chairman Alan Grattidge presented the grants which totaled $28,204 to representatives of the various organizations. Over the nine years the Foundation has been in existence, 152 organizations in Saratoga County have received over $267,000 in grants.

The Foundation is funded entirely by donations from Saratoga Casino and Raceway and the Saratoga Harness Horsepersons Association. The purpose of the Foundation is for the support of charitable and public benefit organizations whose mission is the betterment of the quality of life, health and welfare of the residents of Saratoga County.

Chairman Grattidge thanked the members of the Saratoga Casino and Raceway Foundation Board for their work over the last year in shaping the Foundation and utilizing the financial resources wisely based on the large number of requests received each year. Other members of the Board are Scott Johnson, Mayor of the City of Saratoga Springs; City of Saratoga Springs Supervisor, Matt Veitch; Saratoga Casino and Raceway Vice President of External Affairs, Skip Carlson and Diane Armer from the Saratoga County Attorney’s office who serves as secretary to the Foundation.
